520 _aThis book collects recent work presented at the 31st IPMA Congress, which was held in Merida, Mexico, from September 30th to October 2nd, 2019. It covers a range of project, programme and portfolio management contexts, with the general aim of integrating sustainability into project management. The book is divided into five parts. Part I discusses general approaches to sustainability in project management, including regional approaches and factors affecting the early stages of a project. Parts II, III and IV all present sustainable project management in a different context, including education and welfare, clean energy, and smart cities. Part V concludes the book by looking at perspectives and future directions for sustainable project management to take. The book offers a valuable resource for all researchers interested in the emerging research trends in incorporating sustainability in project, programme and portfolio management.
